What if I miss a class?

What to bring to class?  Please do not bring bat bags. Wear tennis shoes, not cleats.  Wear workout clothes. No gum or sunflower seeds permitted in facility.
  • Overall Classes–mitt, bat, and helmet only.  VBC provides helmets, too
  • Hitting Classes – bat and helmet only
  • Pitching Classes – baseball mitt only
  • Catching Classes – must bring your own catching gear

Student Holiday Camps: What to bring? -- Campers should bring the following items with their names on it:

* A lunch packed in a small cooler (please do not pack peanut products for lunch or snacks) *A water bottle * A small gym bag to keep their items * A baseball MITT * A batting HELMET (VBC provides helmets, too.) *A baseball BATTennis shoes required for indoor camps  *  Shorts or baseball pants

VBC CLASSES/CAMPS REFUND POLICY All inclement weather updates/cancellations will be posted on the VBC home page. The VBC does not follow the closing policy of local governments and schools. You may also call the VBC at (703)698-5599 for information updates.

 

If a class or camp is cancelled due to inclement weather, the VBC will try to schedule a make up on the next available date.  If we are unable to schedule a make-up class, a credit in the amount of the cancelled class or camp will be issued.  That credit may be used for any VBC class, camp or cage rentals for the next 12 months.  No cash refunds will be issued due to weather cancellations. No credit or refund will be issued due to personal reasons, or illness unless VBC is notified in writing 14 days in advance of the program start date. NO EXCEPTIONS To cancel a registration, you must give a 14-day written notice prior to the program start date to receive a partial refund or credit toward a future program.  A 25% service charge will be assessed on each program refund or credit.  To transfer classes, you must also give a 14-days written notice prior to the program start date. A $35 charge will be assessed for any request to move or switch classes or camps.


Lessons and Rentals Refund Policy You must give a 48 hour notice to receive a refund for a lesson or rental reservation. A $10 service charge will be assessed on all cancellations. The full amount of the lesson or rental will be assessed if the cancellation is made within 48 hours of that lesson or rental.

What if I miss a class?

We do not give any credits/refunds for missed classes. If you are going to miss a class, the VBC staff will work with you to try to find an opening in the same class at another time. Please use our automated Make Up Log Form to log in classes that you will miss and to sign up for make up classes. The VBC does not guarantee that there will be an opening in another class.

Merrifield Indoor Training Center - 2719 Dorr Avenue, Fairfax, VA 22031.Directions from Arlington - take 66 west to 495 south. Take Rt. 50 west, turn right onto Prosperity Ave. Go through Lee Hwy and make first right on Hilltop. Make first left on Dorr Ave. Facility is about 300 yards on the right. Directions through Falls Church:  take Lee Hwy south.  Go through Gallows Road and make first right on Hilltop (after Home Depot). Make first right on Dorr Ave. Facility is about 300 yards on the right.  Also, see directions from McLean for alternate route.

Inclement Weather

The VBC does not follow the closing schedule of local schools or government.  In case of inclement weather parents should visit the VBC website or call (703) 698-5599. We will post the status of upcoming programs on our homepage at least 1 hour prior to the start of that program. If a class or camp is cancelled due to inclement weather, the VBC will try to schedule a make up on the next available date.  If we are unable to schedule a make-up class, a credit in the amount of the cancelled class or camp will be issued.  That credit may be used for any VBC camp for the next 6 months.  No cash refunds will be issued due to weather cancellations.

9:10-10:50       Safety Rules, Hitting and Fielding Groups --Hitting: Focus #1 – Stance, Focus #2 – Load

 --Fielding: Demonstrate correct throwing, correct fielding, correct backhand, getting up from a dive
10:50-11:30     Wiffle ball games
11:30-11:50     Lunch
11:50-12:00     Activity: Ask Mr. Umpire
12:00-12:10     Activity: ROOTS activity
12:10-12:25     Activity: Trivia
12:30-12:55     Pitching – 5 step progressions
1:00-1:50         Wiffle ball games
1:50-2:00         Clean up and REVIEW “What we learned today.” End for the Full Day Camp.
2:00-6pm         PM Ext. Hours – Video and supervised incrediball games.
